Vote: Who is the South Suncoast Softball Player of the Week (3/5/2024)?

We have 10 candidates for you to choose from

The Florida High School Softball season is in full swing and we begin our Player of the Week polls for areas all around the state. Teams have started off the regular season with some great individual performances.

As such, we have 10 athletes nominated this week for the SBLive’s South Suncoast Florida high school softball player of the week award from February 26-March 2, and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Sunday, March 10th at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced in next week's poll.

Congratulations to last week’s winner: Jaylin Pinedo, Port Charlotte

Editor’s note: Our corresponding poll is intended to be fun, and we do not set limits on how many times a fan can vote during the competition. This poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll.

Here are the nominees:

Allison Cole, Sarasota Riverview: In a 2-1 win over Palmetto last week, the junior hurler went seven innings, allowed just two hits and fanned 13 batters.

Joni Taylor, DeSoto County: Taylor had herself a big game in the Bulldogs’ 19-1 win over Bayshore, driving in five runs on two doubles.

Selah Spenn, Sarasota Christian: Though Spenn’s performance came in a 31-21 loss to All Saints’ Academy, the eighth grader went 3-for-5 with five RBIs and a home run.

Alysa Jones, Parrish Community: The freshman came up huge in the Bulls’ 6-3 win over Palmetto. Jones drove in three runs on two hits.

Konstantine Belgrade, North Port: The senior had a big night at the plate in the Bobcats’ 9-8 loss to Fort Myers. Belgrade drove in four runs on two doubles.

Grace Cosby, Manatee: Cosby was solid in the Hurricanes’ 11-4 win over Port Charlotte, pitching six innings, allowing four hits, four runs and striking out six batters.

Lexi Fitzgerald, Charlotte: Though in a 9-8 loss to Bishop Verot, Fitzgerald belted a three-run homer for the Fightin’ Tarpons.

Jade Carnahan, Inspiration Academy: The junior third baseman was clutch in the Lions’ 6-0 victory over Venice. Carnahan notched two triples and drove in a run.
